Rayven Services was established in March 2006 as a new concept in the South African catering and food processing industry.
Mark Raven, whose experience in the “knife sharpening” industry in the UK was instrumental in researching the local market, teamed up with Lynn Ray to place RAYVEN SERVICES on the map.
The initial research indicated an almost untapped market in the servicing of kitchen or food processing knives and we supplied our first customer with our knives early in March of that year which were then serviced on a regular basis with our first sharpening and honing machine from the boot of a small Fiat UNO.
When Mark returned to the UK in 2008, Lynn was joined by husband Glenn and the team has grown in number to 5 dedicated and hard working staff in Cape Town. The aim is quality sharpening with top class service and we “bend over backward” to achieve exactly that.
THE GROWTH OF
RAYVEN SERVICES
We no longer work from the back of a vehicle and out of a garage but from a retail shop in Observatory, Cape Town where we cover the Western Cape, and a workshop in Gauteng owned and run by Laurence Watkins that covers the Gauteng region. We have now grown to around 800 regular customers in the Western Cape and Gauteng since that humble start and plan to open in KZN in the near future.
